Custom Wetsuits for Scuba Diving: Neoprene & Polartec Wetsuits

Every Terrapin wetsuit is built from scratch to match your body and your dive plans. Below are a few real examples of custom suits we've made for actual clients — but don't feel limited by these photos. You can design a wetsuit that's completely your own, from the material to the color palette to the cut.

Neoprene & Polartec: Two Ways to Build Your Perfect Suit

We build every custom wetsuit using either premium Neoprene or Polartec material, depending on the conditions you dive in and how you want your suit to feel.

Neoprene is the classic wetsuit material: a closed-cell sponge rubber that traps a thin layer of water against your skin, which your body heat then warms. It's available in a range of thicknesses (2mm to 7mm) to match the water temperature you're diving in, and it's the right choice for most cold-water and cool-water diving.

Polartec is a lighter, neutrally buoyant alternative made without any sponge rubber, making it a great option for warm-water diving or for divers with a neoprene allergy. It's typically worn on its own in warmer conditions or layered under a wetsuit for added insulation.

Not sure which material is right for you? Visit our Materials page for a deeper look at both or explore our dedicated Neoprene and Polartec pages to see pricing and style options for each.
